Terms of Service
The rules of the frontier
Draft for the owner's review. This is not legal advice; have a solicitor check it before the game opens to the public. Last changed 23 October 2026.
These terms are between you and Craig Hughes, a sole trader based in Dublin, Ireland, trading as Coyote Creations, who makes Liberty Hold ("we"). By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not play.
1. Who can play
The minimum age is 13. If you are under 16, or under the age of majority where you live (18 in Ireland), a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and supervise your play. Chat is on for every player, so please read section 4 together. If we learn that someone is younger than 13, we will close the account.
2. Your account
You can start as a guest: the game makes an account tied to your device. You can then link a Google, Apple or Facebook sign-in so you can get your town back on a new phone, and we pay a one-off bonus for each provider you link. A guest account that is lost with its device cannot be recovered, so please link one. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account. One person, one account: do not sell, trade or share accounts. You can delete your account at any time: see how to delete your account and the privacy policy for what happens to your data.
3. Free to play, and virtual items
Liberty Hold is free. You can buy Silver Dollars, skins, a monthly pass and conveniences with real money through Google Play, the App Store or Steam. Everything you buy or earn in the game (Silver Dollars, resources, buildings, troops, heroes, skins, anything else) is a licence to use it inside the game. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold or traded outside the game. We never sell troops, territory, gate openings or whole gold heroes. The store you buy from handles payments and refunds under its own rules; your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
4. Fair play, chat and messages
Play the game as it is meant to be played. Do not use cheats, bots, scripts, modified apps, exploits or glitches to gain an advantage; do not attack our servers; do not buy or sell accounts or progress for money. Do not harass anyone, post hateful, sexual or illegal content, or use a name that is offensive or pretends to be someone else. If you find a bug, report it to us instead of using it. Some towns are run by computer-controlled settlers that we operate, mostly while a world is young; they follow the same rules, never buy anything, are not marked in play, and are described in the game's help.
Chat and messages are public, not private. World chat, clan chat and direct messages are stored on our server, other players can read what you post in the channels you use, and a moderator can read a message, and the lines around it, once someone reports it. Do not share personal details, yours or anyone else's: no real names, addresses, phone numbers, schools, or social-media accounts. Harassment, bullying, abuse, hate, threats, and collecting other people's personal information are banned. Reports are reviewed by a person and can lead to a mute, a suspension or a ban. You can mute or block anyone and report any message from the chat sheet. A filter masks some words, but it is not perfect, so use the report button.
Reporting illegal content. Anyone, player or not, can report content in the game they believe is illegal by writing to [email protected], saying where it is and why it is illegal. A person reads every report. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we tell you what we did and why, and you can reply to ask us to look again. This email is also our contact point for authorities under the EU Digital Services Act; we answer in English. Reports are sorted with the help of an AI model, and our Discord help bot is an AI, but decisions about accounts are made by a person (see the privacy policy).
5. Seasons and resets
The game runs in seasons. Season 1 lasts six weeks (42 days) from launch day, then rewards are paid; your home map, heroes and reputation carry over, and Season 2 plays out on a temporary map before everyone returns to the home map. Walls and gates open on fixed season days. Dates, rewards and balance can change, especially while the game is in testing, and a season or a test world may be reset, shortened or ended. During closed tests, progress may be wiped. We will tell you in the game or on the Discord when that happens.
6. Our content and yours
The game, its art, music, code and name belong to us or our licensors. You may play it, but may not copy, reverse-engineer or resell it. Your display name and chat messages remain yours, but you allow us to show them to other players and to keep them while you play. Streaming and posting videos of the game is welcome.
7. Ending an account
You can stop playing at any time. We can warn, mute, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, usually after a warning, and straight away for cheating or serious abuse. If we close your account for a breach, we do not owe you a refund for unused virtual items. If we end the whole game, we will give notice in advance where we reasonably can.
8. Things go wrong
We try to keep the game running but it is provided "as is": it may be down for maintenance, lose data in a fault, or contain bugs. We make nightly backups but cannot promise that nothing is ever lost. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of virtual items or progress, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when a new feature arrives. We will show the new version in the game or on this page and change the date at the top. If you keep playing after a change, you accept it; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
10. Law and disputes
Irish law governs these terms, and the courts of Ireland can decide any dispute, but if you are a consumer in another EU country you keep the protection of your own country's consumer law and may go to your local courts. Please write to us first; most problems can be sorted out by email.
