Privacy policy

What Liberty Hold keeps about you

Last updated 24 October 2026. This policy covers the Liberty Hold game (Android, iOS and PC), its game server, this website, our support email and our Discord help bot.

In short. We keep what the game needs to run your account: an account identifier, your town and progress, chat and reports. We show no ads, use no advertising ID, sell no data and run no third-party analytics. Your game data lives on our server in Germany. You can ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at any time: [email protected].

Who we are

Liberty Hold is made and run by Craig Hughes, a sole trader in Dublin, Ireland, trading as Coyote Creations ("we", "us"). We decide how your data is used, so we are the "controller" under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact for anything about privacy: [email protected]. A person reads every email.

What we collect, why, and for how long

For each kind of data: what it is, why we need it, the legal basis under GDPR, and how long we keep it.

Your account identifier
When you first start the game it creates an account on our server, tied to an identifier your device gives our app: on Android the app-specific Android ID, on iPhone and iPad the "identifier for vendor", on PC a value made from your computer's hardware. It is not your advertising ID, which we never read. Why: so your town is yours when you come back. Basis: providing the game you asked for (contract). Kept: for the life of your account.
Social sign-in (optional)
When Google, Apple or Facebook sign-in is offered and you choose to link one, we receive the identifier that provider gives us for you and, depending on the provider and what you allow, your name and email address. Why: to recognise your account on a new device, and to pay the one-off link bonus once per sign-in account. We never post to your account or read your friends, contacts or feed. Basis: contract; for the bonus record, our legitimate interest in stopping the bonus being claimed again with a new account. Kept: the link for the life of your account; a record that a sign-in account has already claimed its bonus is kept after deletion so it cannot be claimed twice.
Your game
The display name you choose and what you do in the game: your town, buildings, troops, heroes, items and in-game currencies, marches and battles, duels, clan membership, rankings, battle reports and your in-game inbox. Why: this is the game. Basis: contract. Kept: for the life of your account.
Chat and messages
World chat, clan chat and direct messages, plus who you have muted or blocked. Why: to deliver messages and keep chat safe. Basis: contract and our legitimate interest in player safety. Kept: World and clan chat rooms keep only their latest 100 messages; older ones are removed by a daily clean-up. Direct messages are kept while the account is open and deleted with it.
Reports
If you report a chat message, we keep the message, the five lines before it and three after it, your reason (up to 120 characters), and who reported whom. If you use Report a problem in the game, we keep its kind (bug, suggestion or help), your text, the game version and your device model and system version. Why: to deal with abuse and fix problems. Basis: our legitimate interests in safety and a working game, and our legal duty to act on reports of illegal content. Kept: while the report is being handled and for up to 12 months afterwards, so we can spot repeated abuse.
Purchases
When in-game purchases are available: the receipt the store sends (order number, item, date and store). Google Play, the App Store or Steam handle the payment; we never see your card or bank details. Why: to credit what you bought and handle refunds. Basis: contract and our legal duty to keep business records. Kept: six years after the end of the tax year of the purchase, as Irish tax law requires, even if you delete your account.
Technical data
Your IP address while you are connected (the server needs it to send you data), and server logs of times, errors and account identifiers. Why: to run the service, keep it secure and fix faults. Basis: our legitimate interests in a secure, working game. Kept: logs are overwritten automatically, normally within a few weeks; longer only for an incident we are investigating.
Email to us
What you write to [email protected] and your email address. Why: to answer you. Basis: our legitimate interest in giving support, or your request. Kept: as long as needed to deal with it, then up to two years for our records.
Discord (optional)
Our Discord server is run on Discord, under Discord's own privacy policy. If you link your Discord account to your player account through our bot, we keep that link (your Discord ID and player ID) until you unlink or delete your account. If you ask our help bot a question, your question goes to Anthropic, see below. Basis: your request (contract) and our legitimate interest in giving support.

What we do not do

Automated tools and AI

A word filter masks some words in chat automatically. Reports are sorted (bug, abuse, help, and how urgent) with the help of an AI model, Claude by Anthropic, and our Discord help bot is an AI that answers questions from a written player guide; it says it is an AI. Decisions to mute, suspend or ban an account are made by a person, never by the filter or the AI. We make no decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects. Some towns belong to computer-controlled settlers that we run: they follow scripted rules, not AI, do not chat, and are described in the game's help.

Who sees your data

Other players see your display name, clan, town on the map, rankings, battle and duel reports, and your messages in the chats you use.

Our service providers process data only for us, under contracts that protect it:

Authorities: only when the law requires it, or to report a crime that threatens someone's life or safety.

Where your data is kept

Game data and backups are kept in Germany, in the European Union. Some providers above (Cloudflare, Google, Anthropic, Discord, Apple, Meta, Valve) are based in or process data in the USA and other countries. Where data leaves the EU, it is protected by the provider's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Backups

The game database is backed up every night in case of a fault or a lost server. We keep the last 14 daily copies and one copy a week for the last 8 weeks, so a backup is gone after about eight weeks. After you delete your account, your data disappears from backups as they expire, and we will not restore your account from one.

Deleting your account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time: see how to delete your Liberty Hold account. We delete it from the live game within 30 days of your confirmed request. We keep only what is listed above as kept after deletion: purchase records required by law, open reports, and the sign-in bonus record.

Children and teens

Liberty Hold is for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. Anyone under 16, or under the age of majority where they live, should play only with a parent or guardian's agreement and supervision. We do not ask your age; if we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. Parents can write to [email protected] to ask what we hold about their child or to have it deleted. To protect younger players by default, the game shows no ads, does no profiling and collects no location; chat shows a safety notice the first time it is opened, and every player can mute, block and report others.

Your rights

Everyone can ask us what we hold about them, and for a copy, a correction or deletion, by writing to [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours. It is free, and we answer within one month.

In the EU, EEA and UK you also have the right to receive your data in a portable format, to restrict how we use it, and to object to any use based on our legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority where you live, though we would like the chance to fix it first.

In the United States, residents of states with privacy laws (such as California) may have rights to know, correct and delete their personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted ads or profiling. We do none of those, and we will never treat you differently for using your rights.

Security

The game and this website use encrypted connections (HTTPS). The server is reachable for administration only with a private key, and only we have access to the game data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell the authorities and you as the law requires.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Its fonts and images are served from this site itself. Cloudflare, which hosts it, sees your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.

Changes

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change matters, for example a new kind of data or a new provider, we will say so in the game or on our Discord before it takes effect.
